Sustaining Life:
The essence of being human is to strive towards gaining awareness of the universe by building an understanding of the completeness of Nature and all its components including all living as well as lively non living entities responsible for sustaining life on this earth. We at times take it for granted, not thinking much about the contribution every lively non living entity is making to sustain life. The need of the hour is to evaluate what we are doing to the nature which is providing us the cushion against most threats not yet known to us. These lively non living elements have started to reach the threshold of patience and the results are there in front of us as natural catastrophes in the form of landslides, tsunamies, earthquakes, epidemics, wildfires, etc. These do not occur overnight , the abuse of the natural resources leads to gradual degradation of natural balance. This gradual degradation can at times go unnoticed , but the moment its cumulative sum surpasses its tolerance limits , the catastrophes surface. Most of the times the world is caught unaware and unprepared. There is no choice as there is hardly any time to respond with a premeditated response. Even the disaster relief measures are only aimed at saving lives in reaction to the catastrophe.
The beauty will be in realizing the fact that prevention is better than cure, its better late than never and one stitch in time saves nine. The alarm bell has been ringing for some time now, which means that humans have breached the boundaries of nature , without realizing the consequences. This is the time for assuming collective responsibility for instilling a sense of awareness that actions of each individual matter and every drop of water adds up to the biggest water bodies. Assuming responsibility for becoming responsible individuals will pave the way to responsible families, to responsible communities, to responsible provinces, to responsible, countries and finally leading us all to a responsible world. The solution is building a responsible behavior towards environment.
Remember it is our responsibility to handover a better world, to the next generation, than what we inherited from our ancestors. The buck stops at you because everything depends on you.
