Know Your True Values in Life Now – It Is Absolutely Critical

Two Realities
We have two realities in our life; one is what others think about us? And the other is what we actually are? We need to make constant endeavor to connect to our real self - our inner core. This is a place where there is no hidden agenda, darkness, pretention, greed, selfishness, ambiguity and illusion. There is only light, tranquility, truth, peace, relaxation, gratitude and clarity.

We are, witnessing the worst mad rat race of our times, running after material possessions and in the process we are knowingly and unknowingly losing out on
1.     Peace of Mind; Because of the perpetual anxiety to achieve our material goals, we are in a constant state of tension, a mental state marked by the absence of lightness and relaxation, causing us to feel irritated even at the slightest provocation. Need any evidence, just watch the traffic on the road and see how people express their growing frustration in the form of road rage culminating in heated exchange and violence in extreme cases.
2.     Health; Such high  stress levels tax our physical bodies beyond the permissible healthy limits ,there by letting abnormality and dysfunction creep into our lives. These can be in the form of one or more of these abnormalities including but not limited to high blood pressure, nervous stroke, insomnia, diabetes, digestive disorders, kidney & liver diseases and in extreme cases this can even result in, sometimes fatal cardiac arrest, leading to an end of the race called life before the finish line.
3.     Our Innocence; We have become so fast paced that we have hurriedly past left our innocence, where we look at one another as well as ,each and every thing with suspicion and doubt. We have trained our minds to always see an ulterior motive even behind the best intentions. This is correctly so the result of our own doing where we have mastered the craft called deception of almost everybody around us. Since we measure the world with our own yardstick, we always look at others in the light of distrust and disbelief. This has made us sacrifice our openness to confide in others and be a confidante, making us long for true friendship and companionship. Neither we become true friend of others nor are we able to make others are true friends, making us even lonelier, with only heartbreaking silence to hear the echoes of our own cries in the times of trial and tribulations.
4.     Our Family Relationships; We have lost touch with ourselves and in the process we have forgotten what do we really want from our lives. Our behaviors are not in line with our deep rooted values. Not because we want it to be this way but because we are not aware of our values, not because we don't want to know our values but because nobody has ever taught about the correct way to know our true values. Even when we are aware of our values we are not able to align our behavior with these values because we are not trained to teach our selves the right behavior. What we are taught is the spontaneous reaction to the provocations thrown at us by the other people or the behavior of going after our passions, which are characterized by the lust & greed, constantly steering us away and not letting us behave in conformity with our values
5.     Inappropriate Role Models; This malady is further catapulted in the form of getting adopted by the other innocent people , because they have seen only the glimpse of the material possessions and not knowing anything about the dark facts and struggles which are internal to our selves. Thus their falling prey and victim to this trap and the tradition is continued. The solution to this problem may not be near at hand. But a good intention can open new doors of learning causing paradigm shift with the generations and letting them decide for their own good about what do they really want from life and then go after it with full dedication and commitment.

Goal Setting for Achieving Happiness & Fulfillment

The Perpetual Complaint; Every now and then we come across people, who complain about not being able to achieve their goals. And if we are able to achieve our goal then very often it is at a very big cost to us, which we realize only once a lot of water has flown under the bridge.  Sometimes we ourselves have the same complaint. But the people, including us, who have this perpetual complaint, must understand the complete truth behind the mechanism of goal setting and goal achievement.

Two Interrelated Concepts Regarding Goals; while setting our goals we need to understand that a goal is something worthwhile we want to achieve and to achieve a goal we must engage in action that would make us achieve it.  We can see clearly that there are two interrelated concepts , the first concept relates to taking  a decision regarding something worthwhile, called a goal, which we want to achieve and the second concept relates to the action we take for achieving that goal

Preempting Great Possibility of Falling Prey to the Wish-List; Another important aspect to be understood here is whether we need to choose any arbitrary goal first and then qualify it to meet the criteria of being something worthwhile we want to achieve or we first deliberate over worthwhile things we want to achieve and then we choose the most appropriate one as our goal. Let's understand that the former style of goal setting needs us to have very strong intuition for us to choose the right goal and there is a big possibility of us taking an incorrect decision by mistaking influence of fad or deep rooted craving for our long suppressed passions & unfulfilled wishes for a goal. Thus, there is a greatpossibility of falling prey to the wish-list, which may contain both desirable & undesirable wishes, and we may end up with an undesirable wish as our goal. Therefore it is strongly recommended that we choose our goal through the latter style.
Now having understood the difference between a goal and a wish, before we get started with the process of setting our goal, we need to answer these three questions
    1.     Is the goal that I am choosing, a desirable goal?
    2.     Can I accurately ascertain the price I need to pay for achieving this goal?
    3.     Do I really want to, pay the ascertained price and, achieve this goal?

Keys to Happiness & Fulfillment- Closer Look at these Questions; Is the goal that I am choosing, a desirable goal?
Please note the characteristics of a desirable goal
    ·        Its fulfillment would be beneficial to all
    ·        It would not cause any pain to any one
    ·        It is in conformity to universal eternal truths
Can I accurately ascertain the price to be paid for its achievement?
    The price includes
    ·        The sustained effort & unflinching sincerity
    ·        Opportunity cost for achieving it
    ·        Correct living in conformity with the universal eternal truths
Do I really want to, pay the ascertained price and, achieve this goal?
    this analysis relates to
    ·        The price justification
    ·        The value attached to the accomplishment of the goal
    ·    The values , talents , purpose ,mental makeup & personality attributes, which vary with different people

If the answer to all the three questions is yes, then we have chosen a goal, which  would unleash happiness & bliss for everyone, directly or indirectly, involved in its accomplishment.
